Dominick Martin, widely known as Calibre, is a Northern Irish drum and bass producer and DJ from Belfast, celebrated for his influential contributions to the liquid funk sub-genre. Active since 1995, Calibre's production style is revered for its subtlety, soulful melodies, and intricate soundscapes. His debut album, Musique Concrète, released in 2001 on Fabio's Creative Source label, set the stage for a prolific career spanning multiple acclaimed releases.
Through his own label, Signature Records, Calibre has maintained creative control, releasing standout albums like Second Sun, Even If, and the Shelflife series. Tracks such as Even If and Peso have become iconic within drum and bass circles, showcasing his refined artistry and deep emotional resonance.
Calibre’s influence extends beyond production; his tracks have become staples in sets by DJs such as LTJ Bukem and Fabio. Despite his widespread acclaim, Calibre remains notably low-key, letting his music speak for itself.
