Dossa

Dossa is the solo project of Austrian producer and DJ Benedikt Dengler, a musician known for blending funk, soul and jazz influences with contemporary Drum & Bass. Raised as a multi-instrumentalist and later developing a background in sound design, Dengler has built a reputation for productions that balance electronic precision with organic warmth.

Many listeners first discovered his work as one half of Dossa & Locuzzed, the Austrian duo whose releases on Viper Recordings helped establish a distinctive groove-led sound within modern Drum & Bass. Tracks such as Shag and Dusk became recognised for their combination of musicality, low-end weight and dancefloor appeal, setting the pair apart from more conventional approaches within the genre.

Following the conclusion of the duo project, Dengler continued under the Dossa name, using the opportunity to further develop his own creative direction. His solo material draws heavily from funk, disco and soul influences while maintaining a strong connection to contemporary club culture. Rich instrumentation, expressive vocals and carefully crafted basslines have become recurring features throughout his productions.

Alongside his work in the studio, Dossa remains an active DJ and producer, continuing to explore the space between nostalgic musical influences and forward-looking Drum & Bass. Whether creating vocal-led rollers, groove-focused dancefloor tracks or more experimental ideas, his music consistently reflects a deep understanding of both musicianship and sound design.
