Ekwols

Ekwols, a drum and bass producer and DJ from Edinburgh, Scotland, has been deeply immersed in the genre since the age of ten, when he began exchanging jungle tape packs with friends. His early exposure to artists like Memtrix and Receptor, coupled with his involvement in Edinburgh's vibrant drum and bass scene, inspired him to pursue a career in music. The name "Ekwols," pronounced "equals," reflects his commitment to equality for all humans, a principle he strives to embody in his work.

Specialising in the dark, technical side of drum and bass, Ekwols has developed a distinctive sound characterised by intricate rhythms and immersive atmospheres. His dedication to refining his production techniques has been evident throughout his career, leading to a series of compelling releases.

In 2023, Ekwols signed exclusively with Evolution Chamber, marking a significant milestone in his artistic journey. This partnership led to the release of tracks such as Mindless Silence and Nervous, which showcase his evolving style and technical prowess. His track Hyena, released in April 2024, further exemplifies his ability to blend powerful vocals with dynamic melodies, solidifying his reputation within the drum and bass community.

Beyond the studio, Ekwols has performed at various events, including gigs in Glasgow and a notable appearance at the Evolution Chamber weekender in Austria.
