Majistrate, born Ian Jordan in Kent, UK, is a veteran drum and bass producer and DJ with a career spanning over three decades. Starting as a DJ in 1989, he transitioned into music production in 1994, becoming a key figure in the evolution of jungle and drum and bass. His early releases, including Open Circuit on Splash Recordings, established his reputation for delivering high-energy, bass-heavy tracks.

Majistrate has worked with many of the genre’s leading labels, including Low Down Deep Recordings, where his signature style of rolling basslines and intricate drum patterns has made a lasting impact. Over the years, his music has earned widespread acclaim for its ability to energise dancefloors and resonate with both seasoned fans and new listeners.

In addition to his solo career, Majistrate is a member of the drum and bass supergroup Problem Central, alongside Logan D, Eksman, and Evil B.
